return of the native

I’ve been away so to speak, from these here pages for one thing, having spent a good portion of January in solitary confinement, mostly just writing and recording at home. I felt positively exiled. Meanwhile my partner was in India with like minded yogis and transcendental types. Sometimes it’s nice to stop the clock, or the bus or whatever and work out what to do next. This was such a period for me. I’m feeling really happy with the new songs and looking at recording them in March/April time. Rob Ferrier will be producing. Other personnel to be confirmed, it all depends who I can rope in. I’m keen to make an analogue record as am seriously disenchanted with the computers. Analogue Cat is first choice and hopefully we can firm up arrangements over the next few weeks. I should also mention that tomorrow night, that’s Sunday 10th Feb, I’m playing a solo gig at The Ruby Lounge [ 26-28 High St Manchester, M4 1QB]. It’s quite likely that I’ll be compering the proceedings too, doing songs between bands and maybe even a few poems depending on the audience. Poems are not for everyone. This being the case I’ve had to cancel the radio Merseyside PMS session scheduled for tomorrow night but hope to reschedule asap.

Hands on… Only last week I Talked to the Hand in an interview that seemed unusually refreshing, intelligent questions, my thoughts were provoked and you can’t ask for more than that, it was enjoyable. I hope I did the questions the justice they deserved. Do check it out. I witter on about this and that, of course I couldn’t resist mentioning Markus; none of us ever can. As for gigs I’m still working on a solo tour for April/May time but as yet not a lot has been confirmed [in truth my agent seems to have disappeared of the face of the earth…yep that old chestnut]. So if you’d like me to come play in your town or your home or at your school then do get in touch. I’m very cheap and often, despite what you might expect, oddly cheerful.
