Skipping for England

It’s been sometime since I bothered to update this diary in a while for all sorts of reasons…mostly technological so if you’ve checked in and found nothing then I can only say sorry. I have been dead busy which is better than dead lazy… well it is most of the time. The Frank Sidebottom gig is some weeks behind me and to be frank I too might as well have been wearing a papier mache head for all the interest that was afforded my set by the assembled misfits of the North Bar. It was a testimonial to indifference, that and quite the most poorly organised little piss hole I have ever played in. They even shafted me on the fee. I missed seeing Frank as I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I don’t mean to be bitter but really…it was awful. The people who wanted to listen didn’t stand a chance. In the here and now I just got the computer back from the PC hospital and have set about updating the gigs pages and suchlike as there have been more shows booked and more tbc including a small tour of Scandinavia in November. Former OASIS guitarist Paul Arthurs aka Bonehead has recently taken over the management of the band and we’re thrilled to be in his capable hands. Last Monday night we [Mike, Bonehead and I] did a radio interview in REVOLUTION bar and played a few tracks from the album…nice idea, Revolution 96.2 FM broadcasting from the streets, it was a right old knees up. I had no idea Mondays could be so reckless… and yes perhaps I should get out more. It was nice hearing tracks from the new album at club volume level and to be listening to the songs for what they are and not getting all paranoid about the bass end or the level of the backing vocal. We have also been getting some decent feedback from various reputable magazine publications regarding reviews for the new album…more on this to follow. I just added a couple of links on the homepage to recent online reviews in Whisperin and Hollerin and Americana UK, both pleasingly positive so do check them out. VPx
